The Navy SSR program offers an opportunity for young and talented individuals to join the Indian Navy as Sailors. The program provides training in various fields such as engineering, technical, medical, and other related fields. The program’s duration is 24 weeks of Basic Training at INS Chilka followed by Professional training in the allotted trade in various Naval Training Establishments.
The selection process for the Navy SSR program includes a written test, physical fitness test, and medical examination. The written test consists of four sections: English, Science, Mathematics, and General Knowledge. Candidates who clear the written test are called for the Physical Fitness Test (PFT) which includes running, push-ups, and sit-ups. Candidates who clear the PFT are then called for a medical examination, which includes a physical examination and various medical tests.
